The Gmina Warta is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Sieradzki of the Łódź Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name with about 3250 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located in the west of the Voivodeship and borders on the Greater Poland Voivodeship in the north . The most important body of water is the Warta ( Polish Warta), from which the city takes its name. The river is dammed northwest of the city to form the 42.3 km² reservoir Jeziorsko .
history
The municipality has existed since 1973 and was part of the Sieradz Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998 .

The Warta municipality maintains a partnership with the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Lengerich .
