The golden pawn

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Golden Pöppel is a game award that was awarded from 1979 to 1990 by the magazine Die Pöppel-Revue . The name is derived from the term "pawn" for a game piece. As a counterpoint to the jury's verdict “ Game of the Year ”, the magazine's readers decided which game they thought was the best. There was no limitation to one year of publication. The prize was replaced in 1990 by the German Game Prize . Since no new reader survey was carried out, the winners received two prizes this year.
