Golden Sparrow 1985

The 4th "National Festival" Goldener Spatz 1985 for children's films of the GDR in cinema and television took place from February 9th to February 15th 1985 in Gera . It was the fourth edition of the children's film festival Goldener Spatz , which first took place in 1979 .

In the competition, 21 animated films , 16 documentaries and articles from television journalism, 13 feature films and television games were shown . The festival opened this year with the TV film The Story of the Golden Taler , directed by Bodo Fürneisen . The competition events in the Panorama Palace and in the House of Culture were attended by 36,500 spectators, the family film festival had 5,500 visitors. In contrast to previous years, there were only around 30 public discussions (according to “ Neues Deutschland ” on February 19, 1985). In addition to the 52 foreign guests who came from 15 countries, 332 film and television professionals and journalists as well as 90 representatives from 14 pioneer film clubs in the GDR attended the festival.
