Golden Sparrow 2008

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 16th children's media festival " Goldener Spatz " took place from April 20 to 26, 2008 in Gera and Erfurt . After the Golden Spatzen in 2007 , the decisive change was made from the biennial to the annual festival cycle. In addition, the official name of the event has been changed from Children's Film & TV Festival to Children's Media Festival , since since 2001, in addition to films and TV productions, Internet appearances have also been awarded.

Overall, the nationwide largest film festival for children in both cities attracted around 11,000 visitors. In contrast to 62 contributions from the previous year, 38 films and television programs competed in six categories for the “Golden Sparrows”, which are traditionally selected by a 20-person film and television jury consisting of children. There were also “Online Spatzen” for the best Internet offer ( “Webspatz” ) and the best online game (“ Onlinespiele-Spatz ”) and special prizes such as the SPiXEL. In addition to the children's juries, there were also six specialist juries who named two other award winners. The nine prizes awarded for film and television contributions were presented on April 25 in the Erfurt cinema CineStar .

The event opened in the presence of the festival director Margret Albers with the short animated film What do you think about rich and poor? by Karsten Kiilerich and Alan Smithee's feature film Stella and the Star of the Orient , a co-production by Kinderfilm GmbH, Studio Babelsberg Motion Pictures GmbH and ZDF .
