Marcus Sauermann

Marcus Sauermann (* 1967 in Wilhelmshaven ) is a German author .

Career

Sauermann studied media education , philosophy and German . He lives near Stuttgart and works as a freelance author. In addition to children's books , he writes scripts for children's films . In 2008 , Sauermann, together with the directors Jakob Schuh and Michael Sieber , was awarded the Golden Sparrow for Ernst im Herbst . In 2010 he received the Golden Sparrow again, this time for the short film The Little One and the Beast . The film also won the crystal of the Annecy International Animated Film Festival , the Prix Jeunesse , the Cartoon d'Or 2011 and that of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm conferred Children's Film Award Emil . In 2012 he wrote the children's book The Little One and the Beast , which is based on his screenplay for the film of the same name. Uwe Heidschötter , the director of the film, illustrated the book. In 2019 Sauermann won the “Children's Programs” Jury Prize of the Robert Geisendörfer Prize for the Trudes Tier series .
