The Cartoon d'Or is a film award for European short animated films .

Organization and regulations

The film prize, which was awarded for the first time in 1991, honors the best European short animation film every year. Cartoon d'Or is organized by the Cartoon - European Association of Animation Film , based in Brussels . The award ceremony takes place at changing locations as part of the Cartoon Forum organized by the association . Prize-winning films from selected European film festivals are included in the selection . A jury will decide on the award .
