Golf Cup 2002

The 15th Golf Cup , a soccer competition between the Arab countries bordering the Persian Gulf , took place from January 16 to 30, 2002 in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh .

A total of seven teams took part. The Iraq was due to the invasion of Kuwait continue to be excluded from participation. The tournament was played in round robin mode , all seven participants played against each other in a group. The winner was Saudi Arabia , whose team won four of their five games and drew once. It was Saudi Arabia's second title win at the tournament. Second place went to Qatar, ahead of the third-placed Kuwait team . All games took place in the König-Fahd-Stadion .
