Golf Cup 1996

The 13th Golf Cup , a football competition between the Arab countries bordering the Persian Gulf , took place from October 15 to 28, 1996 in the Omani capital of Muscat .

A total of seven teams took part. The Iraq was due to the invasion of Kuwait continue to be excluded from participation. The tournament was played in round robin mode , all seven participants played against each other in a group. The winner was Kuwait , whose team won four of their five games and lost once. It was Kuwait's eighth title win at the tournament. Second place went to Qatar, ahead of the third-placed team from Saudi Arabia . All games took place in the Sultan Qaboos Sports Center .
