1998 Golf Cup
The 14th Golf Cup , a soccer competition between the Arab countries bordering the Persian Gulf , took place from October 30th to November 12th 1998 in the Bahraini capital Manama .
A total of seven teams took part. The Iraq was due to the invasion of Kuwait continue to be excluded from participation. The tournament was played in round robin mode , all seven participants played against each other in a group. The winner was Kuwait , whose team won four of their five games and lost once. It was Kuwait's ninth title win at the tournament. Second place went to Saudi Arabia, ahead of the third-placed team from the United Arab Emirates . All games took place in the Bahrain National Stadium.
