Gomathi Marimuthu (born February 8, 1989 in Tiruchirappalli , Tamil Nadu ) is an Indian middle-distance runner who specializes in the 800-meter run .

Athletic career

Gomathi Marimuthu gained her first international experience at the 2013 Asian Championships in Pune , Germany, where she finished seventh in 2: 10.74 minutes. Two years later she just missed a medal at the Asian Championships in Wuhan after 2: 04.89 minutes in fourth, and in 2019 she won the Asian Championships in Doha with a new personal best of 2: 02.70 minutes .
