Gonzalo Restrepo Restrepo (born August 8, 1947 in Urrao , Colombia ) is a Colombian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Manizales .

Life

Gonzalo Restrepo Restrepo was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Medellín on June 1, 1974 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on December 12, 2003 auxiliary bishop in Cali and titular bishop of Munatiana . The Archbishop of Medellín, Alberto Giraldo Jaramillo PSS , donated him episcopal ordination on February 11 of the following year . Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia, Beniamino Stella , and the Archbishop of Cali, Juan Francisco Sarasti Jaramillo CIM .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on July 11, 2006 Bishop of Girardota . On July 16, 2009, he was appointed coadjutor archbishop of Manizales . The inauguration took place on October 7th of the same year.

With the health-related resignation of Fabio Betancur Tirado on October 7, 2010, he succeeded him as Archbishop of Manizales. On January 6, 2020, Pope Francis accepted the resignation put forward by Gonzalo Restrepo Restrepo.
