Urrao is a Colombian municipality ( municipality ) in Departamento Antioquia in the subregion Antioqueño Suroeste .

Urrao is located in the middle of the Andes in the western Cordilleras.

Urrao borders in the north on Abriaquí and Frontino , in the west on Vigía del Fuerte , in the south on Salgar and the Departamento del Chocó ( Medio Atrato , Quibdó and El Carmen de Atrato ) and in the east on Betulia , Concordia , Caicedo and Anzá .
