Gore Obsessed ( English for blood-obsessed ) is the eighth studio album by the American death metal band Cannibal Corpse .

History of origin

At Gore Obsessed was included the Grammy winner Neil Kernon ( Nevermore , Macabre involved) as producer. For this CD, too, a separate cover had to be made especially for German sales. Both were traditionally designed by the American artist Vincent Locke and in the uncensored version show a collection of zombies tearing a person to pieces, in the censored version only 3 undead, one of which is lashing out at a person with a sharp object. On a limited edition of the album, the 12th track (so-called hidden track ) is the Metallica cover No Remorse . In addition, a Japanese version of Gore Obsessed was released , which contains a live version of the title "Compelled to Lacerate".

The album rose to number eleven on the Billboard Top Independent Albums and to number 71 on the German album charts in the week of its release .
