Evisceration Plague ( English for evisceration ) is the eleventh studio album by the US death metal band Cannibal Corpse .

General

The album was recorded by the band in September and October of 2008 at Mana Recording Studios in Saint Petersburg, Florida and released via Metal Blade Records on January 30, 2009 in Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland on February 2, 2009 in Rest of Europe published. It was produced and mixed by Erik Rutan , who works as a death metal musician himself ( Hate Eternal , ex- Morbid Angel ) and in 2006 also produced the band's last album, Kill . In addition, Rutan also acted as a guest musician on Evisceration Plague , namely he played a guitar solo for the song "Unnatural". The album cover artwork is by Vincent Locke , who was also responsible for all other album artwork in the band's history. As with "Kill", no separate, defused cover was made in Germany for this album. In addition, the lyrics were printed in the booklet.

Evisceration Plague is the second album after Kill that the band has recorded in the current line-up with George Fisher as singer, Pat O'Brien and Rob Barrett on guitars, Paul Mazurkiewicz as drummer and Alex Webster as bassist.

The album was put on the index at the beginning of May 2010 by the Federal Testing Agency for Media Harmful to Young People. The reason given was that the songs A Cauldron of Hate , Beheading and Burning , Evidence in the Furnace , Evisceration Plaque , Unnatural and Skewered from Ear to Eye were to be assessed as glorifying violence, and Priests of Sodom as immoral. It is the fourth Cannibal Corpse studio album indexed in Germany, as well as the band's second album to be placed on List B of the index. It was also the first time since 1992 that a Cannibal Corpse studio album landed on the index.
