Eaten Back to Life is the debut album by the US death metal band Cannibal Corpse .
History of origin
After the merger of the bands Tirant Sin and Beyond Death in 1990 under the name Cannibal Corpse, the first, self-titled demo was created . In 1990 the band signed a record deal with Metal Blade Records and released their debut album in the same year. All five songs in the demo were used in newly recorded versions, and the album also contains six other songs.
background
In Germany, the album is indicated by the Federal Testing Office for Media Harmful to Young People as harmful to young people. The cover of the album shows, among other things, a zombie eating its own innards . The album was re-released for the German market in a neutral version without the text being printed as a normal CD and as a digipack .
Francis Howard from Incubus (now Opprobrium ) appeared as guest vocalists on Mangled and Glen Benton from Deicide on Mangled and A Skull Full of Maggots .
The album was dedicated to Alfred Packer , an American convicted of cannibalism .
