The Bleeding ( Engl . For Bleeding ) is the fourth studio album by American death metal band Cannibal Corpse .

History of origin

Guitarist Bob Rusay left the band before the album was recorded and was replaced by Rob Barret, who previously played for Malevolent Creation . For Chris Barnes it was the last album with Cannibal Corpse . In contrast to the first three albums, Chris Barnes sings much more understandably and dispenses with excessive growling .

The Bleeding was the first album by Cannibal Corpse , which was equipped as a censored version with a "neutral cover". Thus the band escaped indexing in Germany , as was the case with the previous albums. The neutral cover shows an enlarged section of the original cover. The inner cover contains the original artwork; a man standing out from a crowd of organically connected zombies .

A remastered version of the album was released with a bonus song, a cover version of the song "The Exorcist" by the band Possessed . This cover version was previously on the Hammer Smashed Face- EP.

A music video was shot for the song Staring Through the Eyes of the Dead . The video, filmed in black and white, shows live recordings of a fictitious unsuccessful operation.
