from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gottfried Fischer (born September 13, 1944 in Bocholt ; † October 2, 2013 ) was a German psychotherapist and psychoanalyst . He was Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Cologne until 2009 and was most recently director of the Institute for Psychology and Psychotherapy Science Cologne (IPPTW) at Steinbeis University Berlin .

Life

Gottfried Fischer studied psychology and philosophy and was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD . He completed his habilitation in medical psychology at the University of Freiburg with a thesis on qualitative psychotherapy research entitled “Contradiction and change - a dialectical model of change in the psychoanalytic process. A contribution to psychoanalytic process research in the context of a qualitative individual case study ”.

He is considered to be the founder of psychotraumatology in Germany. Gottfried Fischer was research supervisor at the German Institute for Psychotraumatology, founded in 1991, as well as teaching therapist and supervisor of the German and the European Academy for Psychotraumatology. He headed the institute for psychotherapeutic research, method development and further training for the training of psychological psychotherapists in deep psychological and analytical psychotherapy at the University of Cologne. Fischer was the founder of the German Society for Psychotherapy Science and managing editor of the journal for psychotraumatology, psychotherapy science and psychological medicine and ran a private psychotherapeutic practice.

Act

From 1995 onwards, Fischer ran the Cologne Victims Aid Model Project , which the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament decided to implement nationwide in autumn 1998. As part of the project, the Center for Psychotraumatology was set up in the Alexian Hospital in Krefeld in summer 2004 as a teaching and research department of the IKPPD.

Fischer developed a method for the etiology-oriented treatment of mental disorders, the psychodynamic-dialectical psychotherapy . The procedure includes elements of behavioral therapy, with psychodynamically guided case concepts and relationships. The multidimensional psychodynamic trauma therapy is used for the psychotraumatic etiology . Sufferers who are at risk of long-term trauma disorders can be treated successfully in an average of ten therapeutic sessions using this procedure.

In cooperation with German companies and institutions, Fischer led preventive measures for accident victims. He developed a concept for recovery weeks for trauma sufferers and helpers after stressful assignments as well as a training offer on risk management and staff management in crisis situations for managers.

Fischer also developed the documentation and planning system for psychotherapy and trauma treatment KÖDOPS .

In addition to clinical psychology, other subject areas in the psychology course were work, industrial and organizational psychology with a focus on clinical institutions, psychotherapy research, as well as art psychology and everyday aesthetics.
