Life

Gottfried Hart was born in Garstadt in Lower Franconia . On June 15, 1934, he bought a barn with a garden on the promenade in Haßfurt, which was the nucleus of the medium-sized company "Gottfried Hart GmbH & Co. KG", which he founded and is still based in Haßfurt today. Hart was called up for military service only briefly in 1939 and was then responsible for the management in the Haßfurt Food Office.

In December 1946 the first rumors arose of a charge of National Socialist activities. A few days later, his property was confiscated. In February 1947, Hart was dismissed from the mayor's office. The allegations turned out to be irrelevant, the ruling chamber acquitted him on all points.

Hart remained a member of the Hassfurt City Council until 1972 (chairman of the CSU parliamentary group from 1948 to 1966) and a member of the district assembly (chairman of the CSU parliamentary group from 1946 to 1966). He acted as deputy of the district administrator from 1952 to 1972.
