Gottfried Holle
Gottfried Johannes Holle (born August 13, 1912 in Chemnitz , † December 13, 1991 in Leipzig ) was a German pathologist . He worked as a university lecturer at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald and at the University of Leipzig .
Holle studied medicine in Leipzig, Vienna, Innsbruck, Munich and Königsberg from 1932 to 1937 and received his doctorate in Erlangen in 1939 ( contribution to knowledge of the fine tissue structure of the female breast ). In 1940/41 he was a soldier and then released. Since 1937 he was a member of the NSDAP . In 1943 he completed his habilitation in pathology in Leipzig ( on lipoidosis, atheromatosis and sclerosis of the aorta and their relationship to endaortitis ), received the Venia Legendi in 1944 and was a private lecturer in Leipzig from 1945 . From 1949 to 1953 he founded and directed the prosecutionat the city hospitals in Gera. In 1953 he became professor of pathology with a full teaching assignment, in 1955 professor with a chair at the Ernst Moritz Arndt University of Greifswald. From 1959 he was professor of pathology with a chair (from 1969 full professor) in Leipzig. From 1959 to 1977 he was director of the Institute for Pathology in Leipzig. He then worked in drug research as a pathologist.
He was a member of the Leopoldina (1967). He was co-founder and from 1962 to 1966 chairman of the Morphology Working Group in the GDR.
