The Gräfimattstand is a 2048  m above sea level. M. high mountain in the Unterwaldner Voralpen in Switzerland . It lies on the territory of the cantons of Obwalden in the west and Nidwalden in the east on the territory of the municipalities of Kerns and Wolfenschiessen .

The mountain summit is just under 100 meters west of the canton border in the Obwalden area. The mountain is part of the ridge that runs from the Stanserhorn in the north to the Graustock in the southeast and separates the Melchtal in the west from the Engelberger Aa valley in the east. Immediately north of the Gräfimattstand is the Gräfimattnollen ( 2034  m above sea level ) and about half a kilometer south of the higher Schluchberg ( 2105  m above sea level ), which to a certain extent represents the main summit in the vicinity, although only the Gräfimattstand is noted on various maps is. The eponymous Kernser Alp Gräfimatt is located on the north-west flank of the mountain.

Hiking trails lead up the mountain from all directions , for example from Kerns or the Alps above Dallenwil ( Gummenalp ) or Wolfenschiessen ( Oberalp , Bielen ), although these get lost near the peaks and therefore an ascent is not entirely undemanding.
