Grégory Dufer (born December 19, 1981 in Charleroi ) is a Belgian football player .

Career

Club career

Dufer started his career at RFCS Marcinelle . In 1999 he moved to the first team of Sporting Charleroi . In the first season in the top Belgian league, Charleroi was able to prevent relegation with 16th place by three points. In 2000/01 the club was ninth. In the next three following seasons, the team reached positions 12, 16 and 15.

In 2004 he moved to France for SM Caen . As third from bottom of Ligue 1 , the club rose to the next lower league level. However, the league cup final in France was reached. In 2005 he returned to Belgium and signed with Club Bruges . Here he was third in the top Belgian league with the club and was able to play UEFA Champions League qualification in the following season . In the third qualifying round against the representative from Norway Vålerenga Oslo on August 24, 2005 Dufer came on in the playoff in the 69th minute for Günther Vanaudenaerde . In the following penalty shootout, he missed a penalty. Bruges won the game 4-3 on penalties.

In the winter of 2006/07 he left Bruges and moved to KSC Lokeren for the spring 2007 season . Lokeren took 16th place in front of Lierse SK , who had four fewer points , and fell back to the next lower league level. In 2007 he moved to Standard Liège . The championship and the Supercup were won in his first season. He came in the championship season on 22 missions and scored one hit (against KRC Genk ).

In 2008/09 he was awarded to AFC Tubize . The club rose with the loaner from Standard and Dufer then returned to Les Rouches . The quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League were reached in the 2009/10 season . In the championship, the club finished eighth, with the team reaching second place in Group B in the play-offs for the Europa League. In 2011 he moved to VV St. Truiden , where Dufer acted very strongly on the offensive and scored numerous goals, but also made a large number of assists. Despite his offensive talent, the team had to start the path to the second division in 2012 . In 2014 there was finally another change within the league to the newly emerging club Seraing United . But just a year later he joined Royal Antwerp . From 2016 to 2017 he was under contract with RFC Liège and then moved to the amateur club RCS Beaufays .

National team career

Dufer played a total of four times for the Belgian national team and scored a goal against Turkey on April 28th . He made his debut on March 31, 2004 in a friendly international match against Germany in Cologne , when he came on in the 59th minute. Germany won the game 3-0.

The right midfielder also took part in the U-21 European Football Championship in 2002 in Switzerland . Dufer was used in all three preliminary round matches. Belgium was eliminated in third place behind the Czech Republic and France .
