Grabowo (Siemyśl)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Grabowo (German Stubbenberg ) is an uninhabited residential area ( desert ) in the area of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland .

After 1846, about ½ kilometers northeast of the village of Nehmer in a former forest area, a farm was created (dismantling). Later the farm was divided. The mining operations were named "Stubbenberg" after the tree stumps that remained in the ground when the forest was cleared . Stubbenberg was officially listed as a residential area. In 1864 there were 13 inhabitants in Stubbenberg, in 1885 there were 18 inhabitants and in 1905 17 inhabitants.

Until 1945 Stubbenberg formed a place to live in the municipality of Nehmer and belonged with this to the district of Kolberg-Körlin in the province of Pomerania .

In 1945, Stubbenberg, like all of Western Pomerania, came to Poland. The place received the Polish place name "Grabowo". Today it lies desolate , the local office is again wooded. The desert is located in the area of Gmina Siemyśl (Simötzel municipality) in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship .
