history

Until the beginning of the 19th century, there was a forest called Mohrow on the site of the later village. The forest belonged to the village of Büssow , a town owned village of Kolberg . In Ludwig Wilhelm Brüggemann's detailed description of the current state of the Royal Prussian Duchy of Western and Western Pomerania (1784), the town owned village of Büssow mentions: “In the Fichtenwalde not far from this village, which is called Mohrow, there is a wood-keeper's apartment with something Land is located, of which an annual lease of 10 Rthlr. is paid to the Colbergsche Cämmerey. ”In 1816 there was already a Vorwerk in addition to the timber maintenance .

After 1822 the Kolberger Treasury had the forest cut down and built farms in its place. The courtyards were laid out across the site so that the new village of Mohrow took on the shape of a scattered settlement . Mohrow was separated from Büssow and became a separate rural community.

Until 1945 Mohrow formed a municipality in the Kolberg-Körlin district of the Pomerania province . Apart from Mohrow there were no other places to live in the community.

Towards the end of World War II , Mohrow was occupied by the Red Army in early March 1945 . Like all areas east of the Oder-Neisse border , the village came to Poland. The village population was driven out . The place name was Polonized as "Morowo".
