Until 1945 Pottberg formed a place to live in the municipality of Nehmer and belonged with this to the district of Kolberg-Körlin in the province of Pomerania .

In 1945, Pottberg, like all of Western Pomerania, came to Poland. Today it lies desolate . The desert is located in the area of Gmina Siemyśl (Simötzel municipality) in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship .
