Gran Metalik (born November 3, 1988 in Guadalajara , Mexico ) is a Mexican wrestler . He is currently under contract with the WWE and appears regularly on their show SmackDown .

Wrestling career

Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (2005-2016)

He made his professional wrestling debut on July 14, 2005 after training with Gran Cochisse and El Satánico. His initial ring personality was that of Plata II, a copy of the original Plata that wrestled in the early to mid 1990s. As a metalik he mainly worked for the Guadalajara branch of Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre and gained experience working on a local level. On April 13, 2008, the CMLL bookers had defeated Metalik El Depredador to become the Occidente Welterweight Champion. About a month later, Metalik won his first Luchas de Apuestas match. Metalik was inducted into the Torneo Gran Alternativa in 2008, where a freshman teamed up with a veteran, and he teamed up with Dos Caras Jr. to advance to the final before losing to Último Guerrero and Dragón Rojo Jr. Over time he won various titles in Mexico.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling (2010-2016)

In May 2010, Máscara Dorada and Valiente traveled to Japan to compete in New Japan Pro-Wrestling's first Super J Tag Team tournament. However, they could not win this. Over time, he had a few appearances until he signed a contract in 2015. In 2015 he won the Fantastica Mania Tag Tournament with Atlantis. This was followed by various title fights, which he could not win.

World Wrestling Entertainment (since 2016)

On June 13, 2016, WWE announced Dorada, under the ring name Gran Metalik, as a participant in the upcoming Cruiserweight Classic tournament. On June 23, 2016, he signed a contract with WWE . He reached the tournament finals, but he lost that in the end to TJ Perkins . After the tournament, Gran Metalik began working in the Cruiserweight Division and appeared on both the Raw and 205 Live shows. On September 19, denied Metalik, his first match in the main roster and took part in a Fatal Four Way Match, also at the Brian Kendrick , Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann took part to the new challengers for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship to determine this however, he couldn't win. On February 14, 2017, Metalik made his debut on the 205 Live Show against Drew Gulak .

In early 2018, WWE decided to use the three masked Luchadors from 205 Live Metalik, Kalisto and Lince Dorado as a team. Their first match, as a trio, took place on January 23, 2018 in the episode of 205 Live, when they defeated Ariya Daivari , TJP and Tony Nese .

Following the November 12, 2018 episode of Raw, the Lucha House Party competed for the first time since the WWE was formed against a number of teams that were not part of the Cruiserweight Division. They played matches against Bobby Roode and Chad Gable , The B-Team Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel , Heath Slater and Rhyno , The Ascension Konnor and Viktor and The Revival Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson. They took part in the World Cup Tag Team Turmoil Match, at the Crown Jewel PPV 2019 in Saudi Arabia. The duo were the first team to be eliminated from the match just six minutes after the opening.

On October 11, 2019, the Lucha House Party was drafted into SmackDown as part of the WWE Draft 2019 . In March 2020, the Lucha House Party was included in the image of the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship as it was one of six teams in a Tag Team Elimination Chamber Match at the Elimination Chamber PPV. However, they did not win the match.
