history

The first Gran Premio di Milano was held on September 12, 1926 at the Autodromo di Monza in the Formula Libre , Voiturettes and Cyclecars classes over a distance of 400 kilometers. The first winner in Formula Libre was the Italian Bartolomeo Costantini in a Bugatti T35C . The following year the race was held at Monza, along with the Italian Grand Prix . The winner was the Fiat - factory rider Pietro Bordino on Fiat 806 .

After an eight-year break, the Gran Premio di Milano in 1936 and 1937 was held on a 2.570 km long slope in Parco Sempione in Milan and was open to Grand Prix vehicles. He pulled the internationally dominant German and Italian factory teams with their top drivers, but never was one of the Grandes Épreuves of the international automobile sports federation AIACR advertised Grand Prix Championship . The Modenese Alfa Romeo factory driver Tazio Nuvolari was victorious in both years .

On September 29, 1946 , the Gran Premio di Milano in Parco Sempione was one of the first internationally important races in Italy after the Second World War . The winner on the new, 2.8 km long route was the pre-war top driver Carlo Felice Trossi in an Alfa Romeo Tipo 158 , which was also successful before the war.

In 1947 the Italian Grand Prix was held in Parco Sempione and the Gran Premio di Milano no longer took place.
