The closest location not far west of the summit is La Chaume . East of the mountain runs roughly in a north-south direction, the Thur Valley (Vallée de la Thur) with the communities Wildenstein and Kruth (German: Krüt) and the reservoir Lac de Kruth-Wildenstein . The mountain can be reached via small roads from Ventron in Lorraine and Cornimont .

tourism

The Grand Ventron, located in the Hautes Chaumes (high pastures, Alemannic: Wasen) area offers a very good view. The relatively long ascent leads mostly through forest and can run through snow until June. There is an orientation board on the summit. There is a Club Alpin Français refuge at Grand Ventron and an inn at La Chaume du Grand Ventron.

The area offers modest opportunities for skiing ( Brabant station in the north-west).
