Grasshopper Cup 2016

The Grasshopper Cup 2016 took place from April 13th to 17th, 2016 in Zurich , Switzerland . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2015/16 and belonged to the International 70 category .

Last year's winner Grégory Gaultier reached the final again. In this he met Marwan Elshorbagy , who won the game with 6:11, 13:11, 11: 9, 9:11 and 11: 6. It was Elshorbagy's first title that season and the fifth of his career on the World Tour.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which are reserved for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Nicolas Müller a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 70,000.
