The place is on the edge of the Ozark Mountains in the middle of a hilly forest landscape. Route 67, which runs from Chicago in the north to the Gulf of Mexico in the south, runs right through Greenville.
The next major town with major shopping and a movie theater is Poplar Bluff , about 30 miles south of Greenville. It can be reached via Route 67. Greenville is roughly half the way from St. Louis to Memphis, Tennessee on the Arkansas border and not far from the Mississippi .

It also provides an ideal habitat for many birds, rodents, and snakes. Bears and big cats are also spotted frequently. Hunting is a very popular hobby here. The hunted game is fully used so that the already poor population can save money.
