Gregor Edelmann

Gregor Edelmann (* 1954 in Suhl ) is a German dramaturge , journalist and screenwriter .

Life

From 1981 to 1989 Edelmann was the dramaturge responsible for GDR drama at Henschel-Theaterverlag Berlin, a. a. by Heiner Müller , Peter Hacks , Volker Braun . In 1990 he founded the touring theater Theater des Ostens together with his long-time partner, the actress Vera Oelschlegel and the cultural scientist André Plath . Several directorial works followed, including August Strindberg's Dance of Death and Jean Racine's Phaedra . From 1991 he was a theater critic ( Berliner Zeitung ) and series author for the Bild newspaper . In 1996 he became press spokesman for Peter Zadek and Heiner Müller at the Berliner Ensemble . Since then he has been working as a screenwriter. He lives in Berlin.
