Gregory Perler

Gregory "Greg" J. Perler (born May 1962 in Paterson , New Jersey ) is an American film editor .

Life

Perler turned during his studies at the Film School of New York University to the Editor about. He graduated in 1986 and then worked as an editor at Michael Sporn Animation Studio , where he worked on various short films for HBO and Sesame Street for its director Michael Sporn . In 1990 Perler moved to Los Angeles , where he initially worked as an assistant to John Carnochan and later as an associate editor on the Disney production of Beauty and the Beast .

In 1993 he met the director Kevin Lima , for whose films he was responsible for editing in the following years. Perler edited the following of Lima's films: Goofy - Der Film (1995), Tarzan (1999), 102 Dalmatians (2000) and the television films Eloise in the Plaza Hotel and Eloise - Christmas in the Plaza Hotel (both 2003).

Perler also drew for the editing of the animated films produced by Chris Meledandri - Despicable Me (2010), Hop - Easter Bunny or Superstar? (2011) and Despicable Me 2 (2013) responsible.

In 2017 he was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year.

He lives with his wife Lynn in Studio City, California .
