Grigorijs Panteļejevs (born November 13, 1972 in Gastello , Russian SFSR ) is a former Latvian ice hockey player .
Career
Grigorijs Panteļejevs began his playing career in the Dinamo Riga youth team . In the 1990/91 season he played for the first time Dinamos in the Soviet ice hockey league . In spring 1992 the Boston Bruins organized a scouting camp in Latvia. Since Panteļejevs was able to convince the responsible of the Bruins, they selected him in the NHL Entry Draft 1992 in the sixth round in 136th place. The following season he made his debut in the NHL and played a total of 39 NHL games, in which he scored eight goals and six assists . In the rest of the season he went for the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League on the ice. He played for the Boston Bruins and the Providence Bruins until 1995, before signing a contract with the New York Islanders as a free agent . However, he was only used in four NHL games and otherwise played with the Utah Grizzlies in the International Hockey League . Other stations in the IHL were Las Vegas Thunder , Orlando Solar Bears and San Antonio Dragons .
In the summer of 1999 he signed a contract with the Hannover Scorpions , for which he scored 21 goals and 30 assists in the DEL . After this engagement in Germany, he first moved to the Russian Super League with Lokomotiv Jaroslawl , then to Södertälje SK in Sweden , later to EHC Olten and finally to HK Riga 2000 . In the following season he first moved to the Finnish first division club Pelicans , but returned to Riga after 40 games. He came to HK Dmitrow via IFK Arboga in 2005 , but shortly afterwards switched to EV Zug and HC Martigny . The end of the 2005/06 season he completed in Italy for HC Bozen . In the 2006/07 season he played again for Martigny, but at the end of the season he strengthened SG Pontebba . In the summer of 2007 he signed a one-year contract with the Austrian second division club EK Zell am See.
In February 2008, the German second division EV Landsberg 2000 announced the commitment of Panteļejevs. The striker came on the recommendation of Olegs Znaroks , but is still suffering from an injury and only made his debut for Landsberg at the end of February. At the end of the season he ended his career.
Panteļejevs has been a trainer at HK Rostov since 2013 .
International
Grigorijs Panteļejevs played so far in nine world championships and the Olympic Winter Games in 2002 and 2006 for the Latvian national ice hockey team .
