Location of Grijpskerke in the municipality of Veere |
Grijpskerke ( Zeeland Hrieps ) was a municipality in the Dutch province of Zeeland . It was formed on January 1, 1816 by the union of the three municipalities Buttinge en Zandvoort , Grijpskerke en Poppendamme and Hoogelande . On July 1, 1966, it was merged with Aagtkerke and Meliskerke to form the new municipality of Mariekerke , which in turn has been part of Veere since 1997 . The Evangelical Parish Church is the Michaëlskerk . The late Gothic house Wilhelmina's Oord is well worth seeing . South of Grijpskerke is the Hoogelande farm with the Gothic chapel of Sint Maarten .
