Guido Frei
Guido Frei (born January 13, 1921 in Ins , Canton Bern , † June 29, 2010 in Zurich ) was a Swiss journalist and long-time director of Swiss television .
Life
After attending school, Guido Frei studied German and history and began his professional career in 1946 as a journalist at Radio Zurich .
In 1958 he switched to Swiss television , the national television of German and Romansh Switzerland . In 1965 he was appointed television director. After the merger of Schweizer Radio DRS and Schweizer Fernsehen in a regional directorate each , he was program director for television from 1974 to 1979 .
Frei, a recognized media expert, was most recently Deputy Regional Director of Swiss Television from 1979 until his retirement in 1986 and in this role was responsible for the program coordination of television and radio. He also dealt with the topics of program and media issues as well as program and media development.
After his retirement, he remained at the request of program director Ulrich Kündig adviser to the station and took until 1989 different tasks within the editorial staff of the public television program of 3sat was.
In addition, he was also known as the author of screenplays operates and wrote the screenplay for a documentary about the Iliad of Homer in a co-production of ZDF , ORF and SRG for series venues of world literature .
