Guido Plante

Guido Plante PME (born August 15, 1936 in Montréal ; † May 24, 2015 ) was Bishop of Choluteca in Honduras.

Life

Guido Plante joined the religious order of the Société des Missions-Étrangères , made his profession on May 25, 1961 and was ordained a priest on December 24, 1961 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of Choluteca on December 14, 2004 . The Archbishop of Tegucigalpa , Cardinal Óscar Rodríguez Maradiaga SDB , donated him episcopal ordination on February 2nd of the following year ; Co- consecrators were Raúl Corriveau PME, Bishop of Choluteca, and Cardinal Jean-Claude Turcotte , Archbishop of Montréal .

When Raúl Corriveaus PME retired on December 17, 2005, he succeeded him as Bishop of Choluteca. On July 13, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
