The diocese of Choluteca ( lat. : Dioecesis Cholutecensis ) is in Honduras situated Roman Catholic diocese based in the city of Choluteca . Its territory includes the administrative districts of Choluteca and Valle .

history

The diocese Choluteca was on September 8, 1964 by Pope Paul VI. Erected from the cession of territory by the Archdiocese of Tegucigalpa as a territorial prelature Choluteca . The territorial prelature Choluteca was raised to the diocese on August 29, 1979 by Pope John Paul II . The diocese of Choluteca is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Tegucigalpa as a suffragan .
