Guido Sandler

Guido Georg Sandler (born July 5, 1928 in Nandlstadt ; † February 17, 2019 in Bielefeld ) was a German manager of the Oetker Group .

Life

Sandler, offspring of an old Kulmbach brewer family, studied business administration in Munich from 1949 to 1952 . During his studies he completed an apprenticeship as a state-certified milk merchant. In 1953 he received his doctorate from the University of Innsbruck on the subject of “Model-Theoretical Studies on Market Transparency”. He then studied law (1954/55) and completed a degree in brewing science in Weihenstephan in 1957 . In September 1957 he took up a position as assistant to the management in the Bavarian Actienbrauerei in Aschaffenburg, which at that time belonged to the Oetker Group ( taken over by the Binding brewery in 1975 ).

In 1959, Sandler moved to the Oetker headquarters in Bielefeld , where he acted as a general representative and chairman of the management from 1963. When Rudolf-August Oetker left the company management in 1981, he became a personally liable partner of Dr. August Oetker KG. He then worked as a member of the advisory board from 1997 to 2000. In addition, he held several supervisory board mandates , including at Hertie , Karstadt and BMW .

In 1995 Sandler was awarded the Great Federal Cross of Merit, in 2001 he received the Great Cross of Merit with a Star. In 2012 he published his memoirs under the title Oetker recipes . In 2017, Sandler was awarded the Papal New Year's Order for his commitment to hospitals of the Catholic Hospital Association.

Guido Sandler died on February 17, 2019 at the age of 90 in Bielefeld.
