Guilherme Porto

Guilherme Porto (born January 21, 1942 in Conceição do Rio Verde ) is a Brazilian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Sete Lagoas .

Life

Guilherme Porto was ordained a priest on August 7, 1966 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of Sete Lagoas on July 15, 1998 . The Archbishop of Belo Horizonte , Serafím Cardinal Fernandes de Araújo , donated him episcopal ordination on October 12 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were José de Lima , Bishop of Sete Lagoas, and Diamantino Prata de Carvalho OFM , Bishop of Campanha .

With the retirement of José de Lima, he succeeded him on October 27, 1999 in the office of Bishop of Sete Lagoas.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on September 20, 2017.
