Guillaume Thierry (born September 15, 1986 ) is a Mauritian athlete who competes in the decathlon .

He has been part of the African elite in this discipline for several years , became the African junior champion in 2005 and then collected several silver and bronze medals at the three most important major events on the continent. On September 12, 2011, Thierry set a new national record with 7481 points at the Pan-African Games in the Estádio do Zimpeto in the Mozambican capital Maputo .

In 2006 he traveled to the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and was able to fight for eighth place. About half a year later he reached sixth place in the African Athletics Championships held in Bambous on his home island . The 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi were not as successful for him as the previous ones; in the end he finished twelfth in the overall classification.

In his youth, Thierry also competed as a pole vault specialist . With jumped 4.30 meters he reached the 13th place at the World Athletics Championships in 2003 in Sherbrooke . Three years later, in Bambous, 4.20 meters reached fifth place at the 2006 African Championships.
