Geographical location

Gumpersberg is located in the northern Odenwald west of Ober-Kinzig near the Hohe Straße , which follows the ridge in north-south direction that forms the watershed of Mümling and Gersprenz . The wooded heights of this mountain range reach 388 meters in the Tannenkopf south of the village.

history

The existence of the place is documented under the name Gamppfersberge or Gumpprechtsperge since 1408. Gumpersberg belonged as part of the lordship of Breuberg to the district court and to the parish of Kirchbrombach . In 1806 the place came with the county of Erbach to the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

On May 1, 1951, the community of Gumpersberg was incorporated into Ober-Kinzig at the same time as the community of Mittel-Kinzig. In the run-up to the regional reform in Hesse , on October 1, 1971, Ober-Kinzig, and thus also of Gumpersberg, was incorporated into the municipality (from October 10, 1980 town) Bad König on a voluntary basis.

Culture

In Gumpersberg there are two residential buildings erected around 1800 under monument protection. One of the two, a day laborer's house, is of socio-historical interest and, due to its location in the bend in the street, also of importance for the village image.

Transport and infrastructure

Gumpersberg is conveniently located near the intersection of the L 3318 and L 3106 state roads near Hummetroth . From this intersection, the K 83 district road branches off to Gumpersberg and ends here.
