Gustav Grüner
Gustav Grüner (born June 7, 1924 in Aš (Czechoslovakia), † February 20, 1988 in Heidelberg ) was a German professor who made great contributions in the field of professional education .
Career
Gustav Grüner attended the State Trade School, Department State Engineering School for Mechanical Engineering, in Eger from 1939 . On September 13, 1943, he passed the final examination as an engineer specializing in mechanical engineering. From 1946 he attended the State Vocational Education Institute in Frankfurt am Main . On May 7, 1947, he passed the state examination for the trade teaching position. This was followed by practical pedagogical training as a trainee teacher at the Waldeck district vocational school in Korbach . After passing the employment examination in 1949, he taught until 1958, first as a trade teacher and finally as a senior trade teacher at the Waldeck district vocational school in Korbach. Gustav Grüner studied in Marburg between 1952 and 1957 (after obtaining the supplementary school leaving examination in 1954 with full matriculation ). In December 1957 he was awarded a doctorate degree with his dissertation “Folk tales and folk tellers in the Waldeck district: a contemporary folklore study based on a collection of tape recordings”. phil. PhD. In 1958 Gustav Grüner moved to the Kassel regional council . The next step in his career took place in 1961 when he was appointed head of the Vocational Education Study Seminar in Marburg. Gustav Grüner performed this task until he was appointed professor at the Technical University of Darmstadt on March 30, 1966. In 1965 he had there habilitation .
Gustav Grüner was a full professor for vocational education at the Technical University of Darmstadt from 1966 to 1988. He acted as the long-time editor of the professional educational journal “Die berufsbildende Schule” with the highest circulation in the German-speaking area. Gustav Grüner further developed the “ didactic reduction ” approaches formulated by Dietrich Hering . In his publication "Didactic Reduction as the Core of Didactics", he divided it into the two sub-areas "vertical" and "horizontal didactic reduction".
In 1987, on the occasion of the 17th German Vocational Schools Day in Osnabrück , Gustav Grüner was awarded the Georg Kerschensteiner plaque donated in 1954 by the “Federal Association of Teachers at Vocational Schools”. The State Secretary in the Hessian Ministry of Science and the Arts , Drs, presented the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon awarded to Gustav Grüner on January 29, 1988. Hermann Kleinstück, before.
