Gustav Jäde (born April 20, 1850 in Schwartau , † July 24, 1913 in Lübeck ) was a merchant , member of the Lübeck citizenship and the founder of two foundations .

Life

Jäde was born on April 20, 1850 in Schwartau in what was then the Principality of Lübeck, the son of a blacksmith . After finishing school in Schwartau, Gustav Jäde did a commercial apprenticeship in Lübeck, acquired knowledge of the cloth trade and founded his manufacturing business in Lübeck in 1882, which laid the foundation for his prosperity. From 1901 until shortly before his death he was a member of the Lübeck citizenship - where he was a member of the financial authorities , the tax authorities and from 1904 to 1906 the citizens' committee.
