Gustav Morf

Gustav Morf (born January 11, 1900 in Winterthur , † January 7, 1978 in Montreal , entitled to live in Illnau-Effretikon ) was a Swiss doctor , psychologist , journalist and politician for the LdU .

Life

After Gustav Morf had passed the Matura in Schaffhausen in 1918 , he began studying modern languages, psychology and philosophy at the Universities of Bern and Neuchâtel before earning the grammar school teacher diploma in Bern.

He then worked as a teacher in Vaud , Poland and England . He then worked as a journalist in Bern from 1929, including working for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung . A book about the writer Joseph Conrad was published in London in 1930.

Finally, between 1932 and 1938, as a student of Carl Gustav Jung and Carlo Sganzini , he studied medicine and psychology in Bern. Subsequently, he ran a doctor's office. Morf wrote two psychological textbooks .

In 1953 Gustav Morf emigrated with his family to Montreal in Canada, where he worked as a psychiatrist and Jungian analyst. He dealt with the phenomenon of terrorism in the province of Québec in the 1960s and published a study on it. For several years he directed the Cercle Jungien in Montreal.

Political offices

Gustav Morf, a member of the National Ring of Independents, represented his party in the Bernese Grand Council from 1942 to 1950 . In addition, Morf took a seat on the National Council for the canton from 1951 to 1953 .
