The Höninger Bach is a nearly 6 km long brook and a right tributary of the Eckbach . It flows along its entire length in the Bad Dürkheim district .

The Höninger Bach rises in the north-eastern Palatinate Forest at 353  m above sea level. NHN just under 2 km north of the federal road 37 ( Bad Dürkheim - Frankenstein ) directly next to the state road  518, which connects Leistadt with Altleiningen .

First the stream flows north, taking in the Kohltalbach from the left . After about 2 km it touches the south-eastern settlement area of ​​the village of Höningen , which belongs to the local community Altleiningen , after which it got its name. There he turns to the northeast  to follow the district road 31 downhill . On this route the Langentalbach flows towards him from the right .

Around 3 km below Höningen , the Höninger Bach flows into the Eckbach from the right at the Kleinsägmühle belonging to Altleiningen at an altitude of 218  m .
