Hüsingen within the municipality

Hüsingen is the southernmost part of the municipality of Steinen (Baden) in the district of Lörrach . The 6.87 square kilometer area has an exclave on the right side of the meadow as a special feature .

Location and geography

Hüsingen is a clustered village on a spring niche - a hollow shape that was created by groundwater leakage from underground erosion - on the northern Dinkelberg and is the southernmost suburb of the municipality of Steinen. The district road 6334 runs through Hüsingen between Höllstein and Adelhausen , which belongs to Rheinfelden. The settlement area is on the left side of the meadow. A right-hand exclave is uninhabited and has pure forest areas.

North of the settlement area in the direction of the Rinnberg, a few hundred meters from the center of Hüsingen, is the Merian'sche Anlagen residential area .

history

Two grave mounds of considerable size are located on Hochstrasse in the Hüsinger district . They are piled up from earth and can be assigned to the Hallstatt-era burial mound group, which was found, for example, in Wintersweiler ("Katzenberg") and Lörrach ("Moos") and can therefore probably be dated to the early Celtic period. In addition to graves, there are also other prehistoric finds in the area.

The place is mentioned for the first time in 1242 as Husinchon . He belongs to the St. Basischen Probstei Weitenau . Presumably the name is derived from a personal name. 1406 a church in the place is mentioned. Hüsingen was part of the Dinghof von Steinen and belonged to the local bailiwick since 1517 at the latest .

In 1913, the operators of the Rheinfelden power station (completed in 1898) submitted an expropriation procedure in order to be allowed to build a high-voltage line (→ power line ) in the local area.

As part of the community reform , Hüsingen was incorporated into the Steinen community on January 1, 1975. In 1992 the place celebrated its 750th anniversary. In 1999 the community center in the village center was completed, which houses both the local fire brigade and the local administration.

The first stage of the 2001 Tour de Suisse from Rust to Basel passed through Hüsingen.
