Hüttengraben is a village and a cadastral municipality in the municipality of Tragöß-Sankt Katharein in the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district in Styria .

The scattered settlement consists of several individual layers. There is a road connection with Lonschitz via the Sattler ( 1007  m above sea level ) . In the immediate vicinity is the Lärchegg ( 1020  m above sea level ), another pass connection, which is a little higher, but is shorter. In earlier times the Lärchegg was used on foot and the saddler was reserved for wagons.

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 37 building areas with 19,067 m² and 22 gardens on 22,118 m² in the cadastral community of Hüttengraben , in 1989/1990 there were 36 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 125 and in 2009/2010 there were 65 buildings on 120 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is shaped by forestry. 186 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 580 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 118 hectares and 632 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 67 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 656 hectares. The average soil climate of Hüttengraben is 15.5 (as of 2010).
