Lonschitz is a place and a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Thörl in the district of Bruck-Mürzzuschlag in Styria .

The scattered settlement consists of the scattered settlements Hasbach and Kulm as well as several individual layers. There is a road connection with Sankt Katharein an der Laming via the Sattler ( 1007  m above sea level ) . In the immediate vicinity is the Lärchegg ( 1020  m above sea level ), another pass connection, which is a little higher, but is shorter. In earlier times the Lärchegg was used on foot and the saddler was reserved for wagons.

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 56 building areas with 29,778 m² and 26 gardens on 4,977 m² in the cadastral community Lonschitz , in 1989/1990 there were 51 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 159 and in 2009/2010 there were 60 buildings on 128 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is shaped by forestry. 221 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of 1979/1980 and 800 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 170 hectares and 842 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 150 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 847 hectares. Lonschitz's average soil climate number is 13.4 (as of 2010).
