HG Merz GmbH , also known as hg merz architects museumsgestalter , is an architectural office based in Stuttgart and Berlin that specializes in museum and exhibition design as well as in the renovation and expansion of historically significant buildings.
history
The office was founded in 1981 in Stuttgart by HG Merz and in 1993 an office in Berlin was added. In 2012 the office founded the company mm +. While HG Merz mainly realizes projects in German-speaking countries, mm + focuses more on the international market. For the museum projects, HG Merz often works with other architecture firms, e.g. B. Daniel Libeskind , UNStudio and Bjarke Ingels .
