HMS Industrial Networks (HMS) is an international company in the field of industrial communication in automation technology from Halmstad , Sweden . HMS develops, manufactures and sells solutions for coupling automation devices and systems with industrial communication networks as well as solutions for industrial remote maintenance and production data acquisition. The company is one of the technology leaders in this market segment. HMS is listed on the Nordic Stock Exchange OMX in the Small Cap IT segment.

history

HMS was founded in 1988 by Nicolas Hassbjer in Halmstad (Sweden). The company initially dealt with the development of sensors. After a short time the focus was shifted to industrial communication . Under the Anybus brand , the company has developed a technology that makes it easier for manufacturers of automation devices to connect their devices to numerous industrial networks. Based on this technology, HMS offers ready-to-install communication modules for industrial fieldbus and industrial Ethernet networks. The Anybus technology is today a widely used de facto standard in automation technology .

Due to the demand for industrial communication technology outside of Scandinavia, HMS built up a worldwide sales network. It has its own branches in the USA ( Chicago ), Japan ( Tokyo ), China ( Beijing ), Germany ( Karlsruhe , Ravensburg ), Italy ( Milan ), France ( Mulhouse ), Denmark ( Copenhagen ), England ( Coventry ) and India ( Pune ). The production takes place exclusively in the head office.

HMS is characterized by constant growth. HMS employs around 370 people (as of Q1 2014) and in 2013 generated sales of 57 million euros. HMS has around 2000 customers worldwide, including the large companies ABB , Schneider Electric , Siemens and Rockwell Automation as well as small and medium-sized companies from the automation technology industry.

On February 1, 2013, HMS took over 100% of IXXAT Automation GmbH, based in Weingarten.
