The HTC One mini 2 is a scaled-down version of the HTC One (M8) smartphone from HTC , which has some features for a reduced price. It was officially presented on May 15, 2014.
Furnishing
Compared to the HTC One (M8), it uses a less powerful processor and half as much memory. The screen was reduced from 5.0 ″ to 4.5 ″ and the resolution was reduced from 1920 × 1080 to 1280 × 720 pixels. The device looks a lot like the One (M8), but is a few millimeters smaller and a few grams lighter. Instead of the sanded edges of the One, the mini 2 has a frame made of polycarbonate . Other functions that have been saved are hardware functions such as the step counter, the display for the DotView cover and Motion Launch. The internal memory is 16 GB and, like the One (M8), can be expanded by up to 128 GB. The battery has been reduced from 2600 mAh to 2100 mAh. Furthermore, the infrared emitter was not implemented.
Tests and criticism
The One mini 2 performed extremely well in tests. Inside-handy.de praised workmanship and design, camera, display and performance. The battery was mentioned as a weak point, but still received 3.5 out of 5 stars. Another point of criticism was the relationship between the case and the display.
